Samantha Wallace is an accomplished business professional, a mother and wife, and a proven leader in our community. Over the past 20 years, she has consistently brought good things to life here in Greenville County.
Whether it was co-founding the award-winning edible Upcountry magazine to foster and build momentum across the local food community, or reinventing the Old Family Courthouse in downtown Greenville as a vibrant literary hub and gathering place as the co-founder of M.Judson Booksellers, to launching and serving as founding Board Chair of Emerge South Carolina, an organization dedicated to bringing Democratic women into the political process–Sam is a builder of good things for us.
Sam grew up in rural Missouri, the eldest of four siblings and the product of public school education. Her hard-working, small business owner father instilled the motto “if you’re gonna do it, do it right”. Sam’s mom, who grew up in the military, instilled a love and appreciation for the larger world, its breadth of diversity and cultures, as well as our country’s service and role in it.
Sam received her undergraduate degree in communications from Northwestern University and dual degree MBAs from the University of Texas at Austin and ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico. Her professional career has led her from management consulting with IBM for Fortune 500 clients in telecommunication and media through entrepreneurial start ups and small business ownership to her current role as Director of Business Development with the local, Top Workplace award-winning firm, Think Up Consulting. She has worked internationally extensively, living in Mexico for just under 4 years and speaks Spanish fluently.
Sam has called Greenville County home since 1998 with her husband Wade, a textile executive, their 18-year-old identical twin sons Mac and Bo, seniors at Greenville High and the Fine Arts Center, and beloved rescue mutt, Liza Jane.
